Softball (Slow Pitch) Ages 6 - 18

Jr. Pigtail (Coach Pitch) Ages 6 - 7

We feel that this division will give our girls the opportunity to learn the game in a relaxed atmosphere were emphasis is placed on each child becoming confident in their ability to become a team player. The Jr. Pigtail Division was a big success in the spring of 2004; we hope that you will give your child the opportunity to participate in this quality program. These games will be officiated by Kempsville High School Softball and Baseball Players. As the Softball Director I feel it is our responsibility to help develop and support our local schools and athletes. Parents need to supply their young players with a softball glove, and rubber molded cleats.

Preteen Ages 10-12     Juniors Ages 13 – 14    Seniors 15 – 18

The City of VA Beach City Wide Athletic Programs Department governs all three age groups. Teams participate against teams from all over the City. These divisions, like the rest of our divisions are a great deal of fun for the girls, but are competitive, with the girls knowing they are representing Kempsville Recreation Association against the best the other areas in the City have to offer.

Uniforms and Equipment

In the Jr. Pigtail 6-7 Division through the Senior Division 15-18, KRA supplies each player with team visor and a softball jersey they will keep at the end of the season. KRA supplies all practice and game balls, batting helmets, catcher’s equipment, and a limited number of bats for each team.
